Income

The main source of income for the AUAS is the Government Grant (rijksbijdrage), money which the government pays to educational institutions for providing education and conducting research.

In 2015, the Government Grant amounted to €274.1 million. The AUAS received €88.9 million in tuition, course and examination fees. Including a few other sources of income, the total income in 2014 amounted to €390.2 million.

The total expenditure of the AUAS in 2015 amounted to €380.6 million.

Other expenses include costs of inventory, equipment, instructional materials, computerisation, catering, travel & accommodation, office supplies, printed matter and external advice.

 

Breakdown of budgets between the faculties

The budgets are broken down between the faculties mainly in proportion to the numbers of students, with a small proportion of the budgets broken down according to policy-based allocation formulas.
