Amsterdam Centre for Innovative Health Practice

ACHIEVE is the Centre for Applied Research of the Faculty of Health. Research, education and practical care in Amsterdam are our central focus. Our research is aimed at realising innovations in the field of care. The knowledge developed through ACHIEVE’s research is connected to the bachelor programmes and is introduced into the professional field through postgraduate education.

ACHIEVE is presenting itself through the research programmes of Complex Care, which focuses on patients with multiple afflictions, and Urban Vitality, which is concerned with healthy and vital ways of living in Amsterdam. ACHIEVE involves students from the bachelor programmes of the Faculty of Health in its research, thus preparing them for their career in the complex professional world of Amsterdam.

ACHIEVE Centre for Applied Research stands for:

  • Research: Complex Care and Urban Vitality
  • Innovation: of professional practice in the fields of care, welfare, research and education
  • Solutions: for practical issues arising in the field
  • Collaboration: of different disciplines and professionals in care and welfare

ACHIEVE offers post-graduate education for care professionals, and has close ties with the bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes of the Faculty of Health.
