Quidquid discis, tibi discis (whatever you learn, you learn it for yourself)

Mr Stefan Molenaars has been at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences since 2003. Throughout the years, he has been involved in various study programmes. Within the Amsterdam School of International Business, Mr Molenaars is a lecturer of Marketing, a thesis supervisor, a coach for Personal Development and the Co-Creative Enterprise project, and a member of both the Thesis Committee and the Curriculum Committee.

Mr Molenaars strongly believes that, ‘students should love studying! By nature, all human beings are curious. Over the years, when growing older, many of us lose touch with our curiosity which makes learning very demanding.’ Mr Molenaars sees it as his responsibility as a teacher to help students open up to learning experiences and to truly embrace the subjects.

Business profile

Following his graduation, Mr Molenaars continued with his personal market research-company, which he started as a student. Eventually he joined KPN (Royal Dutch Telecom) as a management trainee.

He later switched to the recruitment and job services sector where he ended up as a business manager at a privatised company in recruitment & employability targeting (international) ICT-companies and customer service centres in the greater Amsterdam region. In addition to his full-time positions, he held a part-time position as an editor at NIMA (the Dutch marketing institute).

On top of that, Mr Molenaars also worked as a part-time lecturer at Schoevers Opleidingen, a private school for intermediate vocational education, and the University of Applied Sciences Haarlem.

Educational profile

Mr Molenaars obtained an MBA with a concentration in Marketing Management in Amsterdam. He also followed part-time modules in ancient and modern western philosophy at the Dutch Institute for Philosophy. Although he was born and mostly raised in Amsterdam, he still possesses international roots, since his mom is officially half-Canadian. He is a proud father of three children. He is an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction books, and he loves watching art-house movies and documentaries, and cooking.
