3rd European STAMP Workshop
The Aviation Academy of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) in collaboration with the MIT Partnership for a Systems Approach to Safety is proud to present the 3rd European Workshop on STAMP, following earlier successful editions in Braunschweig (2013) and Stuttgart (2014). The workshop will feature key note speeches by Prof. Nancy Leveson (MIT) and Prof. Sidney Dekker (Griffith University), and a program covering recent developments in the application of STAMP, proactive safety indicators, and industry case studies.
Traditional system safety approaches are being challenged by the introduction of new technology and the increasing complexity of the systems we are attempting to build. STAMP is a new systems thinking approach to engineering safer systems described in Nancy Leveson’s book “Engineering a Safer World” (MIT Press, January 2012). While relatively new, it is already being used in space, aviation, medical, defense, nuclear, automotive, and other sectors.
