Have you already planned and implemented a Safety Management System (SMS)? Excellent! But have you also recognized that safety is more than simply documenting and executing SMS processes? Are you currently planning to develop an SMS? Do you know how to make it highly effective? More importantly: do you want to actually achieve what SMS is intended for? Then this master class in advanced safety management is for you.
The Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences is pleased to present a master class based on state-of-the-art knowledge, research and practices in safety management. This highly interactive, mind-expanding and challenging event will introduce you to approaches, techniques and tools that will allow you to fully exploit the potential of your safety management system. It will help you improve safety levels, and complement compliance to standards with performance-based SMS monitoring.
The master class will include discussions about the meaning and role of safety management regardless of the industry domain, as well as the application of practical and insightful methods to a variety of cases. There will also be ample opportunity for reflection about your own practices. The safety management tools and techniques introduced during the course will also be complemented with tips to help you cope with potential difficulties in their implementation.
Our goal is to hold discussions based on a solid understanding of SMS and the challenges linked to its operation. Therefore, we ask you to come to the master class with the policies, practices and tools you use (or plan to introduce) in your organization with regard to safety management design, implementation and monitoring. The number of attendees has been limited to ensure a lively discussion and excellent group sessions.
Participants can choose to register for the entire master class or for any individual day(s). Seating priority will be given to participants who have registered for more days.
