Inaugural Lecture Geert Boosten: The (congested) city in the sky

The capacity game: will airports be able to meet the connectivity demand?

Inaugural lecture

Airports provide connectivity to –major- city regions. A lack of sufficient airport capacity could harm the development of the airport region. Currently, airport capacity is increasingly becoming a scarce commodity, especially at the large airports worldwide. We will explore the drivers of airport capacity and which innovation and transformation is needed to optimize the capacity at existing airports that are most vulnerable.
