The School of Economics and Management was founded in 1867 and prides itself on a long history of first-rate business education. Unlike traditional universities, the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) has always emphasized the practical application of theoretical knowledge. Its graduates are entitled to a Bachelor Degree. Detailed information can be found on our schools page.
About 14.000 students are currently enrolled at the School of Economics and Management, the largest school of the AUAS, which overall has a total student population of approximately 40.000 students. Each year the School of Economics and Management receives about 350 exchange students. They study for one or two semesters under the terms of a bilateral agreement between the School of Economics and Management and their home university. To find out whether your home university has an agreement with us, please consult the list of our partner institutes.
Information about our institute and its facilities for exchange students as well as practical information about living in Amsterdam can be found in our Information Guide.
In our "Course Book Incoming Students" you can find the courses that we offer to our exchange students. Apart from taking individual courses, it is also possible to take a so-called minor. This is a one-semester (= 30 ECTS) study programme which consists of a number of pre-selected courses focusing on a specific field of study. Enrolment should be done in advance through our intranet system. After being accepted as a student, you will receive your login details which give access to the enrolment site, the time table assembly. General information about courses and specific minor and course descriptions can be found in the Course Book.
