Information Technology & Computer Science

We train young professionals for a career in ICT. Participate in real-life cases, study new developments, interact with other young people. Enjoy the challenging atmosphere of our university. Our international programme is aimed at 2nd, 3rd and 4th year undergraduate students of our partner Institutions.

International students that have been accepted into our programmes  can visit our International Office of ICT here for more information during their stay in Amsterdam.

 

Information Technology and Computer Science offers the following exchange programmes.

Semesters

Autumn 2017

Beginning of February 2018 - end of June 2018

Beginning of September 2018 - beginning of February 2019

Please Note:

  1. Applications for the first term of 2017-2018 will only be processed after 1 March 2017
  2. the semester programme has to be taken as a whole as it is a coherent package
  3. Progrogramming skills are required for all semesters
  4. you need to upload your CV and transcript in our enrolment system (below) in order for us to check if your background matches your choice. 
  5. AFTER acceptance, we will change your application from pending to enrolled  in our system. If you cannot be accepted, you will be informed as well.
  6. students must be there from the very beginning to the very end of the semester
  7. students must be prepared to do team work during the whole semester
  8. students in the Mobile Development semester will do a project in a company for two days a week. Travel costs might be incurred.
  9. Each course in a Thematic Semester is 4 ECTS
  10. Each Project in a Thematic Semester is 11 ECTS
  11. Professional Skills is only taught in Dutch and aimed at Dutch Students
  12. Bedrijfspunt is only an option for Dutch students
  13. the following electives are offered to exchange students in order to earn 30 ECTS: Survival Dutch (2 ECTS), Intercultural Skills (2 ECTS), English (1 ECTS)

* Programme with pre-requisites

** In this program, students can pick out of four different courses – virtual fashion design,
interaction design in VR, game engine & assets and story telling in VR – and multiple
master classes/workshops are given by specialists (researchers, teachers, companies,
students). You can sign up for these classes to or broaden or deepen your knowledge.
Except from this, specialists can also be asked to come in as consultants to, for example,
review their products or brainstorm about possible solutions. Courses: Assets creation, Interaction design, Clo3D, Storyboarding, Storytelling in VR/AR

Medialab
MediaLAB Amsterdam is a creative, interdisciplinary Amsterdam based studio where students and researchers work together on innovative and interactive media research projects for Creative Industries. If you wish to enrol go to medialab. You will then be invited for a skype interview

Innovation Lab Cyber Security

Companies, lecturers and students work on on issues relating to digital security and cyber crime

Information about our university and its facilities for exchange students, visa procedures and practical information about living in Amsterdam can be found via A-Z for international students.

After you have been accepted as an exchange student, you will be contacted by our international office to start the procedures to arrange all of the above.

  • Enrolment for our programmes can be done online.
  • Autumn semester 2018: deadline for enrolment 1 May 2018.
  • Spring semester 2018: deadline for enrolment 15 October 2017.
