Entrepreneurship College - The SDG Edition #4
SDG 17: Partnerships for the GoalsEvent
Every second Thursday of the month, we organize lectures around the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. Our guest speakers are academic experts and entrepreneurs working in the field of the SDGs. They discuss root causes, challenges, relevant theories and important stakeholders. But above all, we go into the role of innovation and entrepreneurship, if we want to reach the goals by 2030. So join us, go back to school and immerse yourself in knowledge for sustainability!
SDG 17: Partnerships for the goals by Hugo von Meijenfeldt
On the 13th of December, Hugo von Meijenfeldt – Dutch SDG Coordinator at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, gives us an introduction to SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. Achieving the SDGs by 2030 requires partnerships between governments, business and civil society concerning technology, knowledge transfer, trade, policy coherence and financial flows. How can we promote these partnerships, and work cross-sectoral together to achieve the SDGs? As the Dutch SDG Coordinator, Hugo von Meijenfeldt coordinates the implementation of the SDGs by business, society and governments.
Second speaker Michiel de Koning
Our second guest speaker is Michiel de Koning – Chef Heroism at Heroes & Friends; a crowdsourcing platform where projects receive your support in skills, stuff or cash, powered by the dynamics of social networks. As a tech venture, Heroes & Friends connects social initiatives to citizens, and helps track the contributions. Michiel de Koning will demonstrate the importance of entrepreneurial practice in achieving the SDGs, and SDG 17 in particular.
