As the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area continues to grow, so does the demand for local and international digital talent. Catering for that demand requires new education models and short, modular instruction formats.
The Faculty of Digital Media and Creative Industries at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) is responding to this development with the foundation of the Digital Society School (DSS), a new institution that will operate in association with the Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam and the University of Amsterdam (UvA).
The curriculum of the Digital Society School will be structured to allow constant adaptation to current themes of interest in society and the industry, in the understanding that all trends are temporary. The knowledge which students and the AUAS amass on specific themes will subsequently be disseminated more widely through minors, online courses, digital camps and executive education programmes, making the Digital Society School a major hub for trend-related digital knowledge and case-based practices.
