At a ceremony in the Mucca Halle in the historic centre of Munich on Tuesday 14 February, the Department of Design of Munich University of Applied Sciences, represented by Prof Ben Santo and the Faculty of Digital Media & Creative Industries of Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, represented by Dr. Geleyn Meijer signed an intention document for future cooperation.
This agreement came into being within the auspices of the Creative Embassy Munich Amsterdam which was also born on 14 February and will act as a semi-permanent liaison between creative companies, creative research & educational institutes and corporates working on (societal) innovation themes and local authorities.
The first project the faculties will cooperate on is the Global Goals Jam set up by the United Nations Development Programme and the MediaLAB Amsterdam which is part of the Digital Media & Creative Industries faculty.
The two Universities of Applied Sciences will be exploring opportunities for joint projects as well as exchange of lecturers, students and research capacity all aimed at innovation in higher education.
The Creative Embassy MUC-AMS is a collaboration between Landeshauptstadt München and Gemeente Amsterdam. Information on the United Nations Development Programme Global Goals Jam and MediaLab Amsterdam can be found at: http://globalgoalsjam.org/
