Enrolment and selection procedure

It is no longer possible to enrol for the 2017-2018 academic year. The enrolment deadline was 15 January 2017.

As there are more prospective students than study places, AMFI has a numerus fixus: a limited number of study places (400). Therefore, the programme has a selection procedure.

The AUAS will send you the selection results within 4 weeks after the selection day. Each prospective student who participates in the selection will receive a ranking number through Studielink on 15 April 2017.

The ranking number is based on your results in the selection. If your ranking number falls within the maximum number of places in 400, you will also receive a placement certificate through Studielink on 15 April. You must accept you placement certificate through Studielink within two weeks.

Is your ranking number higher than 400, there is a possibility of obtaining a placement certificate only if places become available after 30 April. The AUAS will issue placement certificates through Studielink until 15 August 2017 at the latest.

Amsterdam Fashion Insitute has capacity for 410 students in the 2017-2018 academic year. 757 candidates took part in the selection procedure and were assigned a number between 1 and 757 on 15 April. Candidates with numbers 1 to 410 inclusive were immediately offered a place, which they will have to accept within two weeks.

If your number is 560 or just above, your chance of being offered a place at a moment later in time is extremely small. However, if your number is just below 560, you have a fairly good chance of securing a place. Based on previous experience, AMFI expects that not all applicants will accept their offer within two weeks after 15 April, for example because they decide to enrol with a different programme after all.

There is also a second moment when places are likely to become available, which is shortly after the results of the school-leaving examinations in general secondary (HAVO) and pre-university (VWO) education. This is when applicants who have already accepted the offer but failed their exams will have to give up their placement.

AUAS will continue offering placements until 15 August.
