You can no longer enrol for the 2018-2019 academic year. The enrolment period closed on 15 January 2018.

Selection

If you have completed your application on time and your documents have been approved, you will be invited for the selection day on March 17th 2018. You will receive the invite for the selection day and the exact planning of the day on February 15, 2018 by email.

The selection day will take place on March 17th 2018.

All applications that meet the official requirements will be invited to the selection day. This day consists of:

  1. Two interviews with ESP lecturers - in these interviews you will get questions on the view of the profession, motivation and study skills and attitude.
  2. Written exam - in this exam you will receive a text in the field of anatomy, biomechanics and/or physiology. The exam consists of multiple choice questions that aim to check your understanding after having read these texts. Prior knowledge in these fields can help, but is not needed in order to perform well in this exam.

Based on the scores of these stations, we will create a ranking and select the top 80 students. We will let you know the results of the ranking on April 1, 2018.

Did you participate in the selection?

If you have participated in the selection you have already received the selection results directly from the AUAS. On 13 April all candidates that have participated in the selection have received an e-mail from the European School of Physiotherapy with information about the ranking procedure and the e-mails you will receive via Studielink on 15 April 2018.

Ranking

Apart from the European School of Physiotherapy, the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) also offers a Dutch physiotherapy BSc program. Together, both programmes form the entire School of Physiotherapy at AUAS. This means that the Dutch programme and the ESP programme need to submit one combined ranking of 330 places in total. Combined ranking 1-90 are places reserved for ESP candidates. Combined ranking 331-478 are places reserved for ESP candidates ranked 91-151 on the ESP ranking. These candidates are on the waiting list.

On 15 April, you will receive the official combined ranking via Studielink. The ranking number is based on your results in the selection. If your ranking is within 1-90 you will also receive a placement certificate through Studielink on 15 April. You must accept your placement certificate through Studielink within two weeks. If you don’t do this, your place will be cancelled and the next person on the waiting list will move up.

If your ranking number is higher than 330 there is a possibility of obtaining a placement certificate only if places become available. For example, because selected candidates did not accept their placement certificate. The AUAS will issue placement certificates through Studielink until 15 August 2018 at the latest.

Please note that mails from the AUAS could end up in your spam box. Make sure to check your spam box regularly.

If you have been allocated a number higher than 330, you obviously want to find out if there's a chance that you will be offered a place, and if so, when. If your number is slightly higher than 330, this could happen relatively soon. If you have been allocated a higher number, you will have to wait a little longer.

As stated above, any cancellation (either from the Dutch program or ESP program) will allow the next person on the waiting list to move up. The total of 330 ranked students need to confirm within 14 days. The places that haven’t been confirmed within 14 days will automatically be assigned to the waiting list. The expectation is that a large number of places will become available after 1 May. Furthermore, throughout the process, students can cancel for personal, financial or visa related reasons, so 10-20% is expected to cancel in the next weeks or months.

From 1 May, we will publish the numbers that have been processed each week on this page below. This will allow you to estimate the chances of your number coming up between 1 May and 15 August. You should therefore check this page regularly.

This table will be updated each week on monday, starting 7 May.
