Master Teacher Education in English. Master's, part-time

The Teacher Education in English Master's programme is designed for second-level secondary education teachers wishing to take the next step in their career. Graduates of the programme are qualified to teach at the first level of secondary education.

The programme's exit qualifications are based on the five professional roles of teachers in secondary education. In practice, these roles continually overlap: 1. Expert in your school subject; 2. Advanced didactician, educator and coach; 3. Professional in the school organisation; 4. Innovative education designer; 5. Education researcher.

The degree programme starts in September and has a duration of two-and-a-half to three years. The academic year consists of 40 weeks of classes per calendar year and at least six contact hours per week. The total study load is around 20 hours each week. The curriculum comprises a total of 90 credits, with one credit equal to 28 hours of study.

Graduates of this programme are qualified to teach English as a subject in the upper years of senior general secondary (HAVO) and pre-university (VWO) education.

Bachelor of Education with a specialisation in English from a university of applied sciences or a Bachelor in English with a minor in Education from a research university. Applicants must also complete an admission procedure and obtain a confirmation of admission.

To register for an admission interview, send an email along with your CV to mastereducation@hva.nl by no later than 19 August 2019. If the admission decision is positive, you will receive a confirmation of admission, which you need in order to enrol. You can subsequently enrol via Studielink, for which you need a DigiD. You must complete your enrolment by no later than 31 August 2019.
