Student - International Business and Languages

Before choosing to study International Business and Languages (IBL), I was living and working in the Netherlands and searching for a university study that would be suitable for me. When I learned about the IBL programme I knew almost immediately that it was what I wanted to do. I wanted to study international business and I felt certain that Amsterdam was the right place to do so.

Practical and hands-on curriculum

In my opinion, the most beneficial aspect of this study is the practical, hands-on nature of the curriculum. The group projects, presentations and eventually the internship in the third year are all designed to prepare students for the realities of working in a real business setting. The first year Co-Creative Entrepreneurship project gave us the opportunity to build our own small business around a unique product, and to learn about the ups and downs of running a business.

The challenges we faced throughout this project were realistic, and created a valuable learning experience. I personally have found that the applied elements of this study can often be difficult and demanding, but I know that every challenge I grapple with helps to prepare me for my future career.

The future after the Amsterdam School of International Business (AMSIB)

As I approach the end of my studies and prepare to start writing my final thesis, I look forward to what the future holds for my career. Reflecting on the knowledge, skills, and invaluable practical experience I’ve gained while studying at AMSIB, I feel confident that I am prepared for the next step. My advice to future students: work hard, challenge yourself, and keep an open mind.
