Summer School

How to apply

Are you ready to sign up for a summer of skills and social enrichment? Do you want to apply for a summer course? Then here's what you need to do:

Step 1: Choose a course

First you need to know what course you would like to attend. Check the course-pages for more information about the learning objectives, the lecturers and the requirements.

Step 2: Housing

Do you need housing? Please check our housing options. The application deadline for housing arrangements organised bij the AUAS has passed. If you want to arrange housing on your own, you are welcome to do so. Please note that Amsterdam is a popular city, and hotel rooms are limited and can be quite expensive.

Step 3: Application

Time to apply! Check out the application procedure, and fill out our online application form. .

Step 4: Visa

Depending on what country you are from, you may need a visa. Read more about which students need a visa and how to apply for one on our Visa-page.

Step 5: Book your flight

We can't help you with this step. We can give you a tip however: book well in advance. Summer is a busy time in Amsterdam. Prices may increase as your arrival date approaches.

Step 6: Insurance

It is probably not something you want to think about, but we strongly advise you to take out insurance.

Step 7: Pack your suitcase

Bring your ticket and a valid passport of course! Cash money for the first days (for meals and your public transportation card). € 75,- should do.

Even during summer the weather in Amsterdam can be tricky. It can get warm (20-25 °C), so bring your summer clothes. But please make sure to bring a warm sweater and a rain jacket just in case.

Wifi is available on campus. For places off-campus that don't provide wifi, please bring an internet cable. Please check for wifi-availability when you book your accommodation.
