The Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) is for the European School of Physiotherapy (ESP) recruiting a

lecturer/researcher (0,6 - 0,8 fte)

Job description
The ESP offers an intense and high-quality physiotherapy programme for excellent students from all over the world, in English.
As a lecturer, your main responsibility is to teach students human physiology, exercise physiology and biomechanics. You are responsible for the development, preparation, implementation (teaching and examination) and evaluation of courses. Another important task is supervising students (e.g. being a mentor, coaching students in their bachelor thesis and during internship). You will cooperate with other lecturers teaching the same subjects. You will work in a small result-oriented international team of motivated and devoted professionals. The lessons are scheduled on different days of the week (preferably Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday) and during the exam weeks the workload will be higher than regular weeks, so your availability needs to be flexible.
If desired, there’s a possibility to combine this job with working activities within the Dutch Bachelor Physiotherapy Degree programme, the research programme and/or Master of Science programme (currently under construction).

Bachelor programme
The ESP is part of the Faculty of Health. In the Faculty of Health there is a collaboration between the Dutch physiotherapy education, occupational therapy education, exercise therapy education and nursing education. They combine their expertise in the field of paramedic and nursing education, research and patient care.
The ESP offers an intense and high-quality physiotherapy programme for excellent students from all over the world! ESP is an honours programme of the AUAS and is recognised by The Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (NVAO) as “Small and Intensive Education”.

The ESP is strongly connected with its students and provides a place where direct communication lines between teaching staff and students are promoted. Creating an informal and safe atmosphere of an “extended family” is an important objective of the programme as we believe this leads to motivated students and excellent study results. Upon completion of the ESP programme, students will receive a Bachelor of Science (BSc, Hons) diploma and this title (together with their excellent level) allows them to smoothly continue into any Masters programme or work as a physiotherapist all over the world.
