Mr Zijian Wang joined the Amsterdam School of International Business in 2016. He has a diversified profile and taught across disciplines, including cross-culture management, professional development, and information technology. He has been nominated for the title ‘Lecturer of the Year’ by students in 2019.

Business profile

Mr Wang has worked predominantly in the higher education industry. In addition, he has expanded his horizons by working for an e-commerce consultancy, a marketing software provider, and a bank. Currently, he remains his affiliation, as a Strategy Consultant for University Collaborations, with the Dutch bank ABN AMRO. During his career in higher education, he has guest-lectured at CEU San Pablo University in Spain and University of Dubrovnik in Croatia, and counting.

Mr Wang was an active social work volunteer in Shenzhen, China. He has accumulated a track record of more than 2,000 hours of voluntary social work by the time he left his country for higher education. His work was praised by Yang Wang, a member of the Chinese Politburo, the then Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Guangdong. Stepping out the NGOs, what he took from the experience was a warm, helpful, altruistic personality.

Educational profile

Mr Wang is a proud AMSIB alumnus in International Business and Languages, who graduated with an honors distinction and 59 extra-curricular credits. Further, he obtained an MSc in Information Studies at the University of Amsterdam, with a focus on Business Information Systems. He believes in life-long learning and takes advantage of MOOCs. Most recently, he completed a certified track in Sustainable Business Strategy at Harvard Business School Online.
