Entrepreneurship College: No Poverty

Sustainable Development Goal #1

Event

Every second Thursday of the month, we organize lectures around the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. Our guest speakers are academic experts and entrepreneurs working in the field of the SDGs. They discuss root causes, challenges, relevant theories and important stakeholders. But foremost, they talk about the role of innovation and entrepreneurship, if we want to reach the goals by 2030. So join us, go back to school and immerse yourself in knowledge for sustainability!

SDG 1 is about ending poverty. According to the United Nations, this is the most important goal. In 2030 nobody can live in extreme poverty anymore. But what else does this goal entail? What about poverty in the Netherlands? And how can you, as an entrepreneur, contribute to the goal?

Every entrepreneurship college is committed to one of the sustainable development goals. Our mission is to introduce the goals to everyone who is motivated to make a positive contribution to making the world a little better through entrepreneurship.

For each course we invite an expert to explain one of the goals, to provide insight into why urgent change is needed and what the consequences would be if we failed to achieve the goals. After the expert, an entrepreneur comes to talk about his or her company and answers the following questions. Why are they trying to achieve the relevant SDG? How do they do this? And how do innovations and technology play a role in this? The lecture will be concluded by Bart Grevenhof, project manager of the entrepreneurship program, who briefly provides insights into the latest technologies.

Our goal is to welcome and inspire students, teachers and professionals of all kinds of backgrounds.

October 10 SDG 1, end of poverty, will be treated. Goal 1 involves more than extreme poverty alone. Social security, but also equal rights play an important role. In this lecture the expert speaker will go deeper into the goal and an entrepreneur will come to talk about how you can best work on this goal from your own company and which resources and technologies you can use.
