AMSIB Open Day - Metro services start later on February 8th

Metro service starting later due to test trips.

On Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 February, metros 50, 51, 53, and 54 will go into service at a later time. On both mornings, these routes will start services at 09:30 when the metro stations will also open. We expect service to return to normal at about 10:00. Metro 52 will be in service as usual and the stations will remain accessible.

Alternative transport

We will provide alternative transport at various locations. The existing routes for buses 41, 44, and 47 will run twice as often on both days until 10:00. These buses will start services one trip earlier.

For connections between the train stations in the Amsterdam transport region, you can take the train. You must show your GVB travel pass on these days up to 9:30 for trains traveling between the stations Central Station, Amstel station, Duivendrecht, Bijlmer ArenA, Diemen Zuid, Holendrecht, Amsterdam RAI, Amsterdam Zuid, Amsterdam Lelylaan, and Sloterdijk.

We will also put shuttle buses into service for routes that are not covered by existing routes.


Shuttle bus 72 Station Sloterdijk - Overamstel

This bus will connect – in both directions – metro stations Station Sloterdijk, Station Lelylaan, Henk Sneevlietweg, Amstelveenseweg, Station Zuid, Station RAI, Amstelstation, Station Spaklerweg, and Overamstel.


Shuttle bus 78 Central Station - Station Bijlmer

This bus will connect – in both directions – metro stations Central Station, Waterlooplein, Weesperplein, Wibautstraat, Amstelstation, Van der Madeweg, Station Duivendrecht, and Station Bijlmer ArenA.

Shuttle bus 79 Central Station - Amstel station

This bus will connect – in both directions – metro stations Central Station, Waterlooplein, Weesperplein, Wibautstraat, and Amstel station.

All three shuttle buses will run every 5 to 7.5 minutes.
