Mr. Rogier Busser joined Amsterdam School of International Business (AMSIB) as Dean in August 2020.

Introducing Rogier Busser

The start of the new academic year 2020-21 brings many changes with it.
A very important event is the welcoming of AMSIBs new dean – Rogier Busser.

Rogier Busser has been involved in higher education for more than 25 years, in the Netherlands as well as in Asia. Before having joined AMSIB, he was the Programme Director for IBMS at The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS).

Rogier has studied Asian studies and Economics in Leiden and Kyoto, Japan. He has been a lecturer and researcher at Leiden University. Apart from that, he has also been in several administrative positions such as director of international relations (Faculty of Humanities, Leiden) and managing director of the Leiden University College in the Hague. In his free time, Rogier enjoys being at home with friends and family, travelling or going to the beach together with his wife to take long strolls with their dog.

“It feels a bit challenging to be the dean of such a large organization as AMSIB is. On the other hand, I feel well equipped, the last four years I worked in a similar position as programme director for an International Business Programme in the Hague University of Applied Sciences” – Rogier Busser mentions - “I am most looking forward to the interaction with people and students, that’s where I derive my work pleasure from”.

Rogier already has a vision for AMSIB: “In five years from now, I hope that AMSIB is a flourishing learning community where professionals from industries, lecturers from academia and students from all over the world feel at home and that we have a good quality of education together”.
