The Executive Board of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) has appointed Ineke Bussemaker as Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics (FBE), following consultations with the representative advisory councils. Bussemaker will join the AUAS in February 2020. In the meantime, Freek Rebel will continue to serve as interim dean.

Bussemaker has extensive experience in the banking sector. For the past 30 years she has worked at five different banks in five countries, holding diverse commercial positions including product management, innovation and general management responsibilities. “I have practical knowledge of professional fields such as commercial economics, business administration, accountancy and personnel management, all of which are part of the courses at the AUAS. Alongside this, my international experience has given me insight into the ever-changing demands placed on young business and finance professionals. I look forward to contributing to education and research in these fields at the AUAS,” says Bussemaker.

“Her extensive experience in the areas of connected leadership, major change processes and her hands-on knowledge of business and economics make Ineke Bussemaker the right person for this role,” says Huib de Jong, Chairman of the AUAS Executive Board. “We wish her all the best in this wonderful position."
