Geleyn Meijer reappointed Rector/member of the Executive Board

The Supervisory Board has once again appointed Geleyn Meijer as member and Rector of the Executive Board of Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) for a term of four years. The appointment is set to take effect on 1 July 2022.

Within the Executive Board, Geleyn Meijer is the first point of contact for topics related to Education & Research, including efforts to shape AUAS as a knowledge institution with a focus on innovation and to create impact in addressing social challenges in the Amsterdam metropolitan region. He introduced the position of Professors of Practice and helped strengthen the Centres of Expertise. Geleyn Meijer also plays a crucial role within AUAS and beyond in connection with building the University of Applied Sciences’ international network.

The Supervisory Board is pleased that Geleyn Meijer is willing to continue his efforts as Rector and member of the Executive Board. The Supervisory Board greatly values his progressive approach and enterprising style of management. Under complex circumstances, he has shown himself to be a highly-skilled and involved administrator who is deeply committed to developing Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences as a knowledge institution. Meijer shows similar commitment at the national level, via his contributions to the development and positioning of universities of applied sciences.

The Central Representative Advisory Council has been consulted and has approved the reappointment.
