Exchange in Amsterdam

Students with international ambitions and a passion for business should consider to do their exchange in Amsterdam at the faculty of Business and Economics.

Founded in 1846, the faculty has a proud history of first-rate business education. About 14,000 students are currently enrolled at the faculty. Each year the faculty of Business and Economics of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, receives about 400 exchange students. They study for one or two semesters under the terms of a bilateral agreement between our faculty and their home university.

The top quality teaching staff and facilities are all located in the buzzing city of Amsterdam, one of Europe its prime business hubs. There is not a better place to continue building your international network. Your exchange in Amsterdam will be an unforgettable experience.

Currenty we have an agreement with the following universities . We do not accept any free mover students.

Our online nomination form for Fall 2021 will open in April.

The nomination deadline for the Fall semester is 15 April.

The nomination deadline for the Spring semester is 15 October.

The application deadline for the Fall semester is 25 April.

The application deadline for the Spring semester is 25 October.

All nominated students will receive instructions to submit their online application in the Students Come and Go Portal. All nominees need to prepare the following documents for their online application:

1. Copy of a valid passport or EU ID card (has to be valid for the entire stay in the Netherlands)

2. Copy of an official transcript of records in English

3. Proof of health insurance in the Netherlands. Students can also upload this later (but before arrival in the Netherlands). Students are responsible for your own insurance!

AON insurance:

EU students do not need extra health insurance. They can obtain an European Health Insurance Card, which simplifies the process of receiving medical assistance during their stay in a European Union member state. Check with your insurance company/health service.

Students with strict academic requirements or students who are in their graduation year should be aware that it is not a guarantee to be placed in the courses which they are required to take, due to the limited places available in each course. Students should take this into account when they intend to study here and that it might occur that not all requirements can be met.

Course Curriculum

Visa and residence permit

Students who wish to come to The Netherlands to study at the faculty of Business and Economics, have to check if they need a visa or residence permit. More information about visa procedures can be found on the Immigration page.


AUAS International Student Housing offers assistance in finding housing for exchange students for a period of minimum 1 semester and maximum 2 semesters. More details can be found on the housing website.
