Testimonial

'Sport Studies - track ISMB has given me the opportunity to live abroad three times (Taiwan, USA, New Zealand) and to develop myself as a young professional. I also attended sport management conferences in Spain and Ireland, which helped me to put the study I was following in an international perspective.

I chose Sport Studies - track ISMB because I wanted to combine my passion for sport and business with travelling.

Internship Head Quarters of Brooks EMEA

After my second-year internship in Taiwan, I chose the Head Quarters of Brooks EMEA (Europe Middle East Africa) in Amsterdam for my next internship. Brooks sponsored the 2016 European Athletics Championships.

My main project within the marketing team was to host a hospitality programme for approximately 400 guests from different key markets within Europe. Each country brought in different types of guests and followed an individualised programme. I also helped with the Championships in general and the Brooks 10K Champions Run. Approximately 16.000 runners ran the 10K through the city centre of Amsterdam, which had an amazing route!

Studying at Temple University in the USA

For my minor I studied for one semester at Temple University in Philadelphia, USA. I followed classes such as Athletics Administration, Sport Marketing, Strategic Management, Facility Management and Sustainable Event Management. I also worked with the women’s basketball team as a team manager assistant, to really get a close experience with college sports. This semester has given me unique and valuable insights for my future career in sports. I loved living in the States and travelled around there quite a bit.

Graduating in New Zealand

For my graduation project I went to New Zealand to work for a company called Total Sport. They specialise in organising sport events (running, multi-sport) all around the North Island at stunning locations. I researched the sponsorship strategy for these events. I enjoyed living, working and travelling in New Zealand, as it is one of the most beautiful countries I have ever seen.

Back at Brooks

After my graduation I was offered a job at Brooks Running in Amsterdam; the company where I already did my third-year internship. At the moment I am working as an office coordinator for the EMEA (Europe, Middle-East, Africa) region, working with all the different departments. I enjoy working here and will see what the future brings.'
