Workshop Open-Source Spinning Technology

Are you looking to expand your playground for independent yarn production? Read on to find out more about this upcoming workshop with Studio HILO. In this 1-day hands-on yarn sampling workshop, you will deep-dive into the spinning and twisting features of studio HILO’s open-source spinning machine and software to learn how you can make your own yarn designs

Studio HILO

After an introduction of the spinning technology, you will learn to calibrate and set soft- and hardware settings for different materials and experiments. We will discuss how material selection influences the design process and touch on the possibilities of local customised and on-demand yarn production and the value of textile micro-production in professional environments. The workshop is hosted by AUAS learning community Critical Making and Research through Design.
