I am Jason, 41 years old, from Amsterdam. I am a former dancer, teacher, choreographer and owner of Sneakie Business, a sneaker clean company.

For me dance is life. When I am dancing, I feel I am alive. You need to breathe, and for me dancing is lengthening your breathing. When the music plays, you need to dance.

I graduated Urban Contemporary at the Amsterdam University of the Arts. I have done my final internship at Alvin Ailey School in New York, and have danced for Rotterdam Dance Works/André Gingras.

I teach Urban Contemporary, which you can describe best as a style with roots in urban or hiphop, but which is based on academic technics. I do not focus on the technics, but mainly on the explosiveness and dynamics of movement.

I will not focus on the right or wrong execution, but on the authenticity of performing. I want to achieve that dancers enjoy a new experience in which they have fun and are working as hard as they have never done before. You can do more than you think. You only need guidance how to approach it differently. And that is the best part. To surprise yourself.
