Heritage Lab
The Heritage Lab collects and creates new knowledge on the role of heritage in our network society, and spreads this knowledge through education, publications and the organising of events and congresses.
The Heritage Lab researches and highlights new manners in which heritage can arise and how it is experienced in our society-in-transition. In our current networked, media-savvy and participatory world, the lines between administrator/user, creator/consumer and expert/layperson are fading. Users are adding knowledge to collections and actively keep traditions alive. Society is changing fast: from the crowdsourcing of knowledge, to community curating of museum presentations, to placemaking in the spatial domain, to the excesses of the experience economy…
The lab is a partnership with the Academie van Bouwkunst and Reinwardt Academie. Together, we also cooperate with other education/research institutions and organisations in the heritage field (e.g. collections, traditions and spaces).
