AUAS Library

Publishing your thesis

If you have finished your AUAS thesis, the Library can ensure that it is available to others throughout the world.

Publish your thesis in a knowledge base

Once you have successfully completed your study, you could have your thesis added to a knowledge base and, by doing this, share the results of all your hard work with others. A number of options are possible:

  • Publication in the HvA Kennisbank: only accessible to AUAS students and staff;
  • Publication in the HBO Kennisbank: accessible to everyone and findable via search engines like Google.

Please note that it is also possible to have your thesis added to a knowledge base at a later date.

Which factors do you need to take into account?

Be aware that your thesis will become available to others, so:

  • do not publish any privacy-sensitive or company-sensitive data;
  • do not publish any confidential information;
  • ask for the approval of your graduation company/client;
  • Bear copyright requirements in mind when using texts and images.

HvA Kennisbank

The HvA Kennisbank is a Library service via which theses written by students at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences are made available to others for a period of seven years.

Theses that are added to the HvA Kennisbank are only accessible to AUAS students and AUAS staff.

How is your thesis added to the HvA Kennisbank?

Many degree programmes add theses that are awarded a 7 or higher to the HvA Kennisbank. However, this will only be possible with the permission of both you and your client. You can demonstrate that you have this permission by submitting a signed permission form to the degree programme office with your thesis.

What to do if your degree programme does not add theses to the knowledge base?

Please contact the Library via our webpage Ask the Library.

HBO Knowledge Base

You could also opt to have your thesis added to the national HBO Kennisbank, making it possible for anyone to retrieve your thesis via search engines like Google. It will be easy for you to refer to your thesis too, because it will be allocated a permanent weblink.
