This page contains updates on measures to prevent the further spread of the corona virus and the consequences for the library services. The Library is there for you. Discover our digital collections and other library services.

By order of the government and RIVM and to protect the health of our students, HvA employees and their loved ones as much as possible, all HvA libraries will be closed from Tuesday 17 March 2020 until Monday 6 April 2020.

We are sorry for the inconvenience and would like to inform you of what is, and what is no longer, possible with regard to library services.

Keep an eye on this web page, the situation may change due to current developments. We hope to be able to welcome you again soon at one of our locations.

No longer possible:

  • You cannot use our physical collection of books and magazines.
  • The study places in the library and the quiet rooms are not available.
  • Study Focus from Monday, March 23 to Thursday, April 9, 2020 has been canceled completely.

Still possible:

  • You can continue to ask questions via the contact form on the website.
  • You can continue to use public study places in the Leeuwenburg, the Nicolaas Tulphuis and the Wibauthuis location. These buildings remain open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Borrowed materials are automatically renewed. For materials where this is no longer possible, for example because you have had them at home for quite some time already or for reserved materials, we do not charge a fee for late return until Tuesday 1 September 2020. Reservations that you can no longer collect due to this measure will be ready for you still.

  • Do you have an appointment with one of the information specialists? They will contact you and can be of service to you through these or other digital channels. In consultation it will be determined whether planned instructions can proceed in digital form.
  • You can still use our extensive digital collection of ebooks, ejournals and databases via the website.
