Bicycle parking

Most Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) locations have either open or closed bicycle parking facilities.

To access a closed bicycle parking facility, you need to use a staff ID card, key or RFID key fob.

Due to corona these measures apply to all bicycle parking facilities:

  • You can park your bike in the bicycle shed and enter the building from the outside. Walking routes to the various entrances have been designated for this purpose. You should also retrieve your bike via the outside. The reason is the check-in and check-out procedure at the entrances.
  • You do not need to keep a distance of 1.5 metres between parked bicycles. People should keep a distance of 1.5 metres, however.

Parking at your own risk

  • Parking a bicycle, moped or scooter in any of the bicycle parking spaces, sheds or racks is always at your own risk. The AUAS cannot be held liable for damage to or the loss or theft of personal belongings from bicycle parking spaces, sheds or racks.
  • At least once a year all derelict bicycles and bicycles which have been left behind for a lengthy period of time will be removed. Bicycle locks and chains lost or damaged as a result will not be reimbursed. The bicycles are turned over to the municipal bicycle depot (Gemeentelijk Fietsdepot), where they can be retrieved for a fee.
