With studying abroad certain costs are involved. This page outlines some of the costs of studying and living in the Netherlands.
COSTS FOR LIVING IN THE NETHERLANDS AND PLANNING YOUR BUDGET

COSTS FOR STUDENTS THAT REQUIRE A RESIDENCE PERMIT:
First it is important to check whether you need a residence permit. If this is the case the following costs will apply:
- IND fee: You will need to pay a fee for the Dutch Immigration Service. This fee is set at 215 Euro.
- Proof of financial means for living expenses:
- The Proof of Financial means for living expenses for one semester: €6.755.
- The Proof of Financial Means for living expenses for one academic year/2 semesters: is €11.580.

- IND fee: You will need to pay a fee for the Dutch Immigration Service. This fee is set at 215 Euro
- Tuition fee: You need to pay the tuition fee for the first year in full. From the second year onwards you can pay in installments. Please use the tuition fee calculator to see the correct tuition fee for your study.
- Proof of financial means for living expenses: You will need to show you have sufficient financial means in order to stay in the Netherlands. For more information, please go to our proof of financial means for living expenses page.
- IND fee: You need to pay a fee for the Dutch Immigration Service. This fee is set at 215 Euro.
- Tuition fee: You need to proof that you have enough financial means to cover the tuition fee for the period you want to extend your residence permit (with a maximum of 12 months). If you already paid your tuition fee in full for this study year, you need to proof that you have enough financial means to cover the remaining months.
- Proof of financial means: You need to show that you have enough financial means to cover your stay in the Netherlands for the duration you want to extend your residence permit (with a maximum of 12 months). Please mind that you cannot pay your tuition fee from your proof of financial means for living expenses amount. These are two separate financial requirements. If you cannot fulfil these financial requirements, we cannot extend your residence permit.
- You do not need to pay a fee for this procedure to the Dutch Immigration Service.
- You need to pay the tuition fee for the first year at AUAS in full. From the second year onwards you can pay in installments. Please use the tuition fee calculator to see the correct tuition fee for your study.
- You will need to show you have sufficient financial means in order to stay in the Netherlands. This is not a payment, only showing that you have it. Obtain a transfer receipt and upload the financial proof in myinfo. Please check your HvA-email for your invitation application for immigration.
