FAQ & Contact

I am currently in the third year of my studies. Can I take a minor?

That depends on your study programme. In the first instance, you must be a third or fourth-year student at the start of the minor. In addition, you must have completed the first year of the degree programme and attained at least 40 credits in the main phase. For some study programmes, all the students will pursue a minor in the third year and for other programmes this will take place in the fourth year. For other study programmes, you can choose whether to pursue a minor in the third or fourth year. Inquire with your study programme about the possibilities or consult the Teaching and Examination Regulations (OER) for your study programme.

Can I do more than one minor of 30 credits?

Yes, you can. You do need to obtain permission from your degree programme's examination board. If the second minor is a transfer minor, each faculty has its own specific rules, which may result in extra costs that you will have to pay for yourself. In case of an extra minor of 30 credits outside AUAS, please take into consideration that you will have to pay the tuition fees yourself.

As a full-time student, can I pursue a part-time minor?

This is only possible if you have requested and obtained the permission of your study programme's examination board.
Keep in mind that a part-time minor may have additional conditions, such as work experience and / or workplace and education may take place in the evening or weekend.

As a part-time student, can I pursue a full-time minor?

This is only possible if you have requested and obtained the permission of your study programme's examination board.
Keep in mind that a full-time minor can have many mandatory contact hours. Do you want to follow an external minor? In some cases you have to pay the difference between part-time and full-time tuition fees yourself at the host institution. Ask the host institution about their conditions in advance.

Am I allowed to put my own minor together from separate subjects?

Am I allowed to follow a part of a minor as an optional subject ?
