Create-IT Knowledge Centre
CREATE-IT is the Knowledge Centre for the fields of Digital Media and Creative Industries (DMCI). As an applied research department, the lecturers and labs work together with external parties from the creative industries and the cultural/social/ICT sectors.
Practical questions are answered using practice-based research. In this way, the education remains current, builds on the science, promotes knowledge circulation and facilitates the professionalising of both students and teachers. The lecturers themselves are cutting-edge researchers in their field who keep developing themselves and spreading their knowledge beyond just the University of Amsterdam. Their research groups, the lectorates, form the basis of the Knowledge Centre – as specialised research groups that actively involve experts in their different projects and labs.
