Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences

21+ Entrance Examination

Do you want to study at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS), but don't you have a senior general secondary (HAVO), pre-university (VWO) or level-4 senior secondary vocational (MBO) education diploma?

The government has called on all universities (including universities of applied sciences) to halt all on-campus educational activities and events. This is to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus.

For this reason, the AUAS has decided to cease all on-site activities until up to and including 6 April. Further information about sitting an 21+ entrance examination will be published before 24 April.

If you are aged 21 or over, you can sit an entrance examination: the 21+ entrance examination, also known as colloquium doctum.

This entrance examination is intended to establish whether you have the skills and knowledge required to complete a degree programme at a university of applied sciences.

The earliest opportunity to sit the exam is Saturday, 16 November 2019. Registration must take place before Wednesday, 3 November 2019.

The 21+ entrance examination comprises two stages:
1. during the first test round, you will sit one or more subject tests;
2. if you pass the subject test(s), you will sit one or more language tests in the second test round.
See the "21+ admission requirements per degree programme" page to find out which subject and language tests you will need to sit. Which subject and language tests you need to sit can be found on the degree programme page of your programme under Practical matters > Admission requirements > 21+ entrance examination.

Once you have passed all the required tests, you will receive an "Admissibility Statement" (Verklaring van Toelaatbaarheid) for the degree programme that you selected.

PLEASE NOTE:
Participation in the 21+ entrance examination does not entail exemption from the Study Check.
Participation in the 21+ entrance examination is otherwise unrelated to your enrolment in a degree programme. Consult the degree programme page for the deadline for registration and the procedure.
