Pascal Wiggers has been appointed Associate Lecturer Responsible Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the Faculty of Digital Media & Creative Industry (FDMCI) as of February 1 2023. From his new position, Wiggers focuses on developing AI from public values, with an eye for the individual, social and ethical consequences of AI. Wiggers is part of the Responsible IT lectureship. This is the first time the Hogeschool van Amsterdam has appointed an Associate Lecturer.

Pascal received his PhD from TU Delft in 2008 with the thesis "Modeling Context in Automatic Speech Recognition" and worked at the same university as an associate professor, where, together with his PhD students, he researched machine learning, automatic recognition of speech, language and emotion and methods to reflect on values during the design and development process of digital technology.

Pascal was quartermaster of the HvA-wide Centre of Expertise Applied Artificial Intelligence and co-initiator of the Professional Master Applied Artificial Intelligence.
