Below you will find the tuition fees rates for the 2022-2023 academic year. Besides tuition, you will be expected to cover a number of additional costs associated with your study.

If you meet the statutory criteria you need to pay the statutory tuition fee per year. If you do not meet those criteria, you need to pay the institutional tuition fee. Both rates are specific to ESP students only.

  • Statutory fees: €3.209
  • Institutional fees: €9.732

If you are a non-European Union student, you will be asked for a proof of financial means. The proof consists of a deposit of €10.800,-.

Tuition fees halved for first year of higher education

Tuition fees have been halved for EU students in their first year of higher education. If you meet the conditions you'll pay a €2104,- tuition fee. Check the Dutch government website for more information about all the conditions.

Other expenses

In addition to the tuition fees, you will have to take into account the costs for books, readers and other expenses incurred by your field of study.

  • Housing, between €500 and €700 a month
  • Insurance, between €40 and €50 a month
  • Books, between €50 and €100 a year
  • Travel (home-school), between €0 (if you have a bike) and €40 (public transport) a month
  • Other costs (groceries, social activities and other expenses), between €300 and €1.000 a year
  • Internship related costs (travel, housing, fees), varies between €300 and €2.000 per internship

Scholarships and grants

ESP welcomes international students at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences to apply for scholarships and grants. If you are eligible for a scholarship or grant depends on various factors. First of all, it depends on where you are from.

Holland Scholarship

Are you ready for the chance of a lifetime? Apply for the Holland Scholarship! The scholarship is meant for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who want to do their bachelor’s or master’s in Holland. The EEA consists of the EU countries and Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.

Amsterdam Talent Scholarship

The Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences/Hogeschool van Amsterdam (AUAS), aims to attract excellent students from around the world. Students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) can apply for an Amsterdam Talent Scholarship (ATS).
