Complete your enrolment

Have you paid your tuition fees yet and made all further steps required to finalise your enrolment? You cannot start your degree programme this September at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) unless you have completed all the required steps. Once a proof of enrolment has been sent to your AUAS email address, you can be sure that your enrolment has been finalised. If you have enrolled for several programmes, please withdraw your other enrolment requests via Studielink.

MYAUAS: THE STARTING POINT FOR ALL YOUR INFORMATION

Every day’s study begins with MyAUAS ('MijnHvA', the AUAS digital learning platform). Log in with your AUAS ID to find your timetable, info on your courses, your marks and any messages from your lecturers. If a lecturer will be absent, you will be notified via MyAUAS. You will also find an A-Z list of practical information for your programme, including such things as ICT, facilities, regulations and supervision.

Check out the instructional videos.

The Course Catalogue for your degree programme contains important information about the curriculum: the programme structure, your courses and the options available.

Information about the reading list, software, laptop and other study materials will be available on this page from July.

As a AUAS student you can get Office 365 ProPlus for free. This will give you access to the latest version of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. You can install the software on a maximum of 5 mobile devices and 5 laptops/fixed computers (Windows and Apple). Go to hva.nl/downloadoffice and use your AUAS ID and password to log in.

SURFspot offers great discounts on many other software products and hardware such as laptops and smart phones.

Every student is issued with a student ID card. These can be used for printing, borrowing books and payment at vending machines. To apply for your student ID card, simply upload your passport photo via www.mijnhvapas.nl . This will require you to enter your AUAS ID, which has been sent to you by email. You will receive your student ID card at the end of August.

If you apply for your student ID card before 9 August, it will be sent to your correspondence address in the week of 18-22 August (the week before the AUAS introduction week). If you apply for your student ID card between 9 August and 13 September, it will be sent to you within two working weeks.

Once you have received your student ID card, you will need to activate it (once only) at one of the service points in the AUAS buildings. Please bring along a valid ID.

Please note that if you do not live in the Netherlands, your student ID card will not be sent to your home address. It will be ready for you to collect from one of the service desks. You can find the location of your service desk in the A-Z list under ‘Service Points and Customer Service Desks’.

The group lists will be announced on Monday 17 August, from which point you will also be able to access your timetable via https://rooster.hva.nl . You can link your timetable to calendar applications such as Outlook, Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or the calendar application on your mobile phone.

Classes start on 31 August. The introduction week will take place from 24 August until 28 August. Go to the AUAS academic calendar to find out how the academic year is structured and when the holiday periods are scheduled.

If you have a disability or chronic illness, this might affect your study progress. In many cases, this entitles you to special facilities, such as additional time on tests or a customised chair.

If you have dyslexia, you can request additional time on tests online. You will need your AUAS ID for this. For more information, go to studying with a disability or chronic illness and read the section on dyslexia.

If you have a different disability or a chronic disease, or if you need additional facilities, please contact the student counsellor for your programme.

Your first days at the AUAS

Every year, a week before the academic lectures begin, we organise a week-long retreat with the new students, lecturers, and some alumni. During the course of the week, students work together in a design challenge, where they combine physical objects with digital products. It’s an excellent opportunity for both lecturers and students to get acquainted with each other in a more informal setting. It also allows students to dive straight into work once they begin their lectures the following week. More information is sent to students in the weeks leading up to the retreat.

All AUAS students can obtain fast and secure access to the internet via the ’hva’ or ’eduroam’ network, which allows access to all information systems. To obtain access to the network, you will be required to complete a number of steps once only. Once you have done that, you will always connect automatically at all AUAS locations.
