Enrolment and selection

Sport Studies - track International Sports, Management and Business (ISMB)

Sport Studies - track ISMB has a limited number of study places (quota). The programme offers in total 300 study places: 76 for Sport Studies – track ISMB and 224 for the Dutch track Sportkunde – leerroute SM&O. There are more prospective students than study places. That's why the programme has a selection procedure.

Enrolment deadline

For the 2022-2023 academic year, you can enrol between 1 October 2021 and 15 January 2022 at the latest. Refer to the step-by-step enrolment procedure for more information on deadlines and requirements. Following your enrolment application, the degree programme will invite you to participate in the selection procedure.

Signing up for selection day

  • After your enrolment in Studielink you will receive an email from the AUAS with an online questionnaire and a link to sign up for the selection day.
  • Make sure that you complete the questionnaire and select a date for the selection day as soon as possible after receiving this email.
  • If you wait too long, your preferred date could be full.

Doing selection day remotely

  • If you live abroad, you can do the selection day remotely.
  • Make sure you sign up for the remote selection day after you complete your application in Studielink and filled out the online questionnaire.
  • The AUAS will contact you about the steps that you need to take.

Please note: emails from the AUAS could end up in your Spam folder. Check this on a regular base.

Programme selection day

The selection day consists of:

  • A physical sport test (shuttle run).
  • An interview.
  • A written theory exam which tests your English, mathematics level, analytical skills, and your knowledge regarding the world of international sport management.

How do you prepare for the selection day?

  • After you signed up for the selection day, you will receive an email from the AUAS.
  • This email includes information about the selection day programme and a link to the online material for the written theory exam.
  • For the selection day you need to bring sportswear and indoor shoes.

Selection criteria for ranking

The average mark you received for the tests has determined your place in the ranking. Your chance of placement depends on the number of available places and the number of students who participated in the selection procedure.

Selection results and ranking number

  • Each prospective student who participates in a selection day, will receive a ranking number through Studielink on 15 April 2022.
  • The ranking number is based on your results in the selection.
  • If your ranking number falls within the maximum number of places in 300 (76 for Sport Studies, 224 for the Dutch track Sportkunde).
  • You will also receive a placement certificate through Studielink on 15 April.
  • You must accept your placement through Studielink within two weeks.
  • If you are not selected, you can still be admitted to the programme after 30 April.
  • The AUAS will admit candidates from the waiting list until 15 August 2022 at the latest.

CROHO name and code number

The official name of this programme at DUO (The Netherlands’ Education Executive Agency) is Sport Studies. This is the so-called CROHO name (ID 34040). The CROHO name and ID are required during your enrolment via Studielink.
