WHO Guidance for implementation

Standards for sexuality education in Europe

The WHO guidance for implementation outlines the process for developing a national or subnational school-based sexuality educational programme based on the WHO/BzgA Standards for sexuality education in Europe. It provides step-by-step guidance on how to introduce new or improve existing sexuality education programmes.

The guidance is designed to build on a curriculum framework. After a general introduction to a holistic understanding of sexuality education, the Guidance introduces other recent international publications and developments in the field and analyses them with regard to common challenges and opportunities for sexuality education.

The standards for sexuality education are available in Croatian, Czech, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Polish, ROmanian, Russian and Spanisch. Link
