Start off Strong

Welcome to the AUAS! This page provides all the practical information you need to start the academic year off strong.

Finalising enrolment

  • Have you paid your tuition fees and taken the other steps required to finalise your enrolment? Find out what you still need to do in your personal Enrolment Checklist .
  • You have to complete all the required steps in order to start your degree programme in September.
  • Once proof of enrolment has been sent to your AUAS email address, you can be sure that your enrolment has been finalised.

AUAS ID and password

  • After completing your enrolment you’ll receive a welcome email containing your AUAS ID.
  • You AUAS ID and password give you access to all the ICT programmes you need at AUAS.

Student ID card

You can use your student ID card to:

  • confirm your identity when attending classes and when using study centres at all AUAS locations.
  • to identify yourself at online exams.
    Only if you do not have a student ID card, you can identify yourself with a valid identity card. For online exams, the BSN must not be visible on the screen.
    Please note: for exams on location only an ID card or passport is considered as a valid proof of identity, not a student card!
  • borrow books from the university library or the university of applied sciences library.

Please note: if you don’t live in the Netherlands, your student ID card will not be sent to your home address. It will be ready for you to collect from one of the AUAS service points.

Introduction week Sport Studies

  • The academic year of Sport Studies – track ISMB starts with an introduction week from Monday 29 August until Thursday 1 September. Make sure you are available on these days.
  • You will receive an email in June with detailed information about the introduction week.
  • Participation in the introduction week is highly recommended! This introduction week is all about getting to know each other and is organized by senior students.
  • Do you have any questions or if you are unable to attend the introduction week? Please send an email to the introduction committee. Make sure to mention Sport Studies - track ISMB in the subject line.


For our students coming from outside of the Netherlands, the AUAS offers to help you find accommodation. Be aware: Rooms are limited! You will receive an email with more information on 8 June – you need to react right away to use the AUAS offer, otherwise it might be too late. Don’t forget to check the location of the room you choose so you won’t be too far from our faculty, we are located at Dokter Meurerlaan 8, 1067 SM Amsterdam.

Sport medical examination

Before you start the programme you need to have passed a sport medical examination at an independent organisation of sport medical professionals in the Netherlands. You will receive an invite at the end of May.

AUAS experience

Get to know the AUAS during the AUAS Experience and get a taste of student life in Amsterdam.


  • You can download the free AUAS Office-package and install it on 5 mobile devices and 5 laptops/computers (Windows and Apple).
  • This Office-package offers you the newest versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, for example.
  • Go to and log in with your AUAS ID and password.
  • Via SURFspot you can enjoy great discounts on other software and hardware such as laptops and smartphones.


  • You can obtain fast and secure access to the internet via the ‘hva’ or ‘eduroam’ network, which grants access to all information systems.
  • To obtain access to the network, you will be required to complete a number of steps (only once).
  • After you’ve done that, you will always connect automatically at all AUAS locations.

  • The first classes start in the week of 5 September.
  • Once you have your class list, you will be able to check your timetable at
  • You can link your timetable to calendar applications such as Outlook, Google Calendar, iCalendar or the calendar application on your mobile phone.

The class lists will be communicated during the introduction weekof Sport Studies.

Reading list

  • The definitive reading list for the first semester will be published no later than 7 July on the Athenaeum Bookstore website.
  • You can also order your books on this website.


  • Do you want to make optimal use of the facilities at the AUAS? Then a laptop is very useful.
  • It is also advisable to have a powerbank to charge your laptop so that you do not need to depend on the power points in the Dr. Meurer building.

  • Every student’s day starts with a visit to MyAUAS (AUAS’s digital learning platform).
  • Login with your AUAS ID to access your timetable, course information, marks and messages from your lecturers.
  • You will also find an A-Z list of practical information for your programme, including everything from ICT to facilities, regulations, supervision and more.


  • The Dr. Meurer building is closed during the summer recess from Monday 25 July to Friday 19 August 2022.
