Month of the AAI | Webinar

Event

Make the most of working at home and meet AI’s brightest and best. A series of cutting-edge and CPD Accredited business, science, tech and networking online events gathering the global AI community and hosted by world-leading AI experts. Brought to you by Inspired Minds, the organisers of the World Summit AI and Intelligent Health global summit series.

Who wants to sit through a two day remote event watching a stream of content for 10 hours at a stretch? Not you apparently. Who can afford to take a virtual day (or two) out of office? Again, not you. The Inspired AI series brings the same cutting edge carefully curated content you would expect from our flagship WSAI in a series of headline sessions, case studies, tech talks and live speaker Q&A!

Nanda Piersma, scientific director of the Expertise Centre Applied Artificial Intelligence (ECAAI) of Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, will feature Inspired Minds. On the 24th of November she will participate in the program AI for Good: Can tech save us?, part of episode IX: Global Game Changers.

As a panelist Nanda will discuss the topic AI for Earth: Green recovery in a post pandemic world. Ten years to 2030 - what is the global starting point for the climate countdown? Other panelists are:

  • Dr. Kim Cobb, Georgia Power Chair and Professor, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, Georgia Institute of Technology
  • Dr. Farhana Sultana, Associate Professor, Department of Geography and the Environment, Syracuse University
  • Thomas Peacock-Nazil, Founder, Seven Clean Seas

Moderator:

Dr. Adam Levy, Science Journalist and Climate Change Communicator

About the Expertise Centre Applied Artificial Intelligence

ECAAI encompasses all of the HvA's AI research and education activities. This centre drives the development of applications of AI technology in a responsible and inclusive manner. AI technology and its implications for companies, organisations, governments and people can only be understood in context and through experimentation. Each faculty of the HvA has created a lab that brings research, education and practices together to solve short and middle term challenges in the application of AI.

Get to know the Expertise Centre Applied Artificial Intelligence (ECAAI) of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences! Launched in January 2020, ECAAI has turned November in the Month of the AAI, in which it will present itself and its labs officially. All activities are listed here.
