What role does education play in combating fake news? What can we do to shape students into critical global citizens? How do we prevent our own bias from playing a role? When does combating fake news become censorship? All these questions will be discussed during this interactive workshop.

After successful completion of this workshop, you will:

  • Know what fake news / disinformation / misinformation is and how to recognise it;
  • Understand the role of your own biases and tunnel vision;
  • Have a better understanding of the various aspects of fake news and how they might affect education.

This workshop includes a combination of brief explanations, exercises and discussions in break-out rooms.
