Entrepreneurship College - SDG #17 Edition

SDG 17: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the global partnership for sustainable development

Event

Themes such as corruption, theft and tax avoidance are all part of SDG 17. Because peace, security and justice ensure development, and vice versa. World violence must be reduced, legal systems must be improved and corruption must stop. As a (future) entrepreneur, how can you respond to this? Which technologies can you use to work more effectively? During this event an entrepreneur and an expert speaker will tell you all about it.

Every second Thursday of the month, we organize lectures around the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. Our guest speakers are academic experts and entrepreneurs working in the field of the SDGs. They discuss root causes, challenges, relevant theories, and important stakeholders.

Every entrepreneurship college is committed to one of the sustainable development goals. Our mission is to introduce the goals to everyone who is interested in the goals, but also to entrepreneurs or future entrepreneurs that want to make the world a better place through entrepreneurship.

For each course we invite an expert to explain one of the goals, to provide insight into why urgent change is needed and what the consequences would be if we failed to achieve the goals. After the expert, an entrepreneur comes to talk about his or her company and answers the following questions. Why are they trying to achieve the relevant SDG? How do they do this? And how do innovations and technology play a role in this? The lecture will end by a short talk from Bart Grevenhof, project manager of the entrepreneurship program at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, who briefly provides insights into the latest technologies.

Our goal is to welcome and inspire students, teachers and professionals of all kinds of backgrounds.
