Online Open Science Community Coffee

Open Science in Practice

On the 15th December we will have our final Open Science Coffee of this calendar year. During this meeting we would like to share experiences from several AUAS researchers and research support staff members. We are curious about your experiences: What is going well? What could be better? Which struggles do you face?

The idea: During the Open Science Coffee, there will be several pitches of 1 to 2 minutes, in which you can briefly describe your experience. Directly after each pitch, there will be a 5 minutes discussing. We have time for several pitches. You don’t need to prepare your pitch in advance, just describe your experience(s) in your own words, no stress.

Would you like to contribute with a pitch? Send us a short message and we will put your name on the list. If you think of something on the spot during the Open Science Coffee, your input is also very welcome 😊.

OSCAwards: We would like to bring the OSCAwards to your attention. Together with the UvA and the VU, the Open Science Community Amsterdam (OSCA) has created the OSCAwards.

Are you doing something Open Science related or do you know someone who is doing well in this field and deserves to be put in the spotlight? Then apply now for the OSCAwards for yourself or someone else. There are 4 categories:

  • Open access / Open data / Open materials / Open software

  • Transparency / Metascience / Preregistration / Reproducibility

  • Stakeholder involvement / Citizen science / Community engagement

  • Open educational resources / Open education / Open online courses

What you can win: 200 euro + symbolic OSCAward. You may spend the money to celebrate with your (research) group that you are good on track in the field of Open Science.
