As of 1 September 2021, the AUAS Degree Programme for 'Exercise Therapy Mensendieck' will be called the Degree Programme for 'Exercise Therapy'. This is a logical consequence of the developments in recent years, in the field and in the professional association.

Since the merger of Cesar and Mensendieck into one professional association in 2004, there is already a joint professional profile. In 2019, a national educational profile was realised. Therefore, the programme at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) will now officially continue under the new name. The communication name will be 'Opleiding Oefentherapie' and in English 'Exercise Therapy'.

Exercise Therapy will also be offered by Windesheim University of Applied Sciences in Zwolle next year. The same CROHO number and name will be used in Zwolle and Amsterdam. The national profile has a focus on Behavior and Movement. Exercise therapy at the AUAS has a special attention for three aspects: Interprofessional collaboration, Learning in Urban Field labs and Lifestyle & Therapy. These three focus areas are visible in education, research and professional relationships of the AUAS programme Exercise Therapy.
