Booking a FLOOR space

Need space for your event? FLOOR has two spaces available for its own events. We occasionally rent these spaces when they are not in use for our own programmes. Please note! These spaces are unavailable for bookings on Tuesdays and Thursdays due to FLOOR’s event schedule. We organise events in cooperation with education and research! Is your event suitable for a wider AUAS audience and would you like to organise it together with FLOOR? Please contact us via floor@hva.nl to discuss your booking request. Booking a FLOOR space

 

1. Check if the space is available through Webroombooking

  1. Click on location view (top-right)
  2. Click on Add Timetable and add the space you're interested in:
  • WBH 02A30 FLOOR centercourt : FLOOR-zaal Wibauthuis |Wibautstraat 3b, 1091 GH Amsterdam. Het zaalnummer is WBH 02A30 (2e verdieping).

Information about the use of the grandstands in the central hall of the Kohnstamm building outside of official FLOOR bookings

The central hall of the Kohnstamm building is an open and freely accessible space consisting of five sections that can be reserved separately or together. The central hall has three entrances. Please be aware that this is public space. The capacity and names of the different spaces are included here: 

- 00A17 - Tribune south (next to MiCaffe - 100 people)

- 00A18 - Tribune north (next to reception) - 100 people)

- 00A20 - Mid south for MiCaffe - 75 people

- 00A21 - Mid north for reception - 75 people

- 00A23 – Street-side - 150 people

Some important things to take into account: 

- The layout of the rooms differs.  Tables are available (70 cm x 70 cm).  It’s possible to move the furniture within each room.

- The space is constantly evolving: keep in mind that certain furniture may have been removed or added. 

- It’s not possible to move the grandstand seating. However, they can be collapsed by the building’s management.  A request for this must be submitted in advance via the web form of FS Event Coordination.

- Grandstand north is the only space with a beamer + screen. Your own laptop can be connected via an HDMI or VGA cable.  These cables are not available – bring your own or request one via the web form of FS Event Coordination.

- There is no standard amplified sound in the room for speakers.  However, these AV resources can be requested via the web form of FS Event Coordination. 

- You can use the room free of charge, but it’s necessary to clean the space afterwards, which can be requested via FS Events Coordination. Please confirm that you have arranged this by notifying FS.

- The floor plan below shows the basic room layouts. After using the space please ensure that the room is rearranged as it was prior to your event. 

For any other reservations of public spaces on the Amstel Campus, including for e.g. consumption of alcoholic beverages, please send an email to evenementen-fs@hva.nl.

This room is located on the second floor of the Wibaut building (WBH 02A30), with a capacity for 70 people.

The FLOOR-zaal can only be booked on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

It is only available for events (not available for meetings or drinks).

Coffee, tea and water can be enjoyed in the FLOOR room. Alcoholic drinks are not permitted. There are suitable venues for events with drinks in the vicinity of the FLOOR-zaal. For more information and reservations, please contact FS Events Coordination.

The FLOOR-zaal is equipped with: a beamer, screen, amplified sound (2 microphones), 70 seats, a flipchart, 12 small tables and blackout curtains.

It is compulsory to check in and out at the office next to the FLOOR-zaal.

It is mandatory to request cleaning after your event. This can be arranged via FS Event Coordination. We would like to receive a confirmation of this.

Please take the following into account:

The FLOOR-zaal (WBH 02A30) in the Wibaut building can accommodate up to 70 people.

There are 12 tables measuring 70 cm x 70 cm. It is not permitted to use furniture from the library/study room, or to move furniture outside the room.

There are over 45 chairs in the room as well as fixed benches with 20-30 seats.

In addition, there is a high speakers' table (standing height) and, upon request, two podium sections. If you need more chairs then these can be rented. You can order a maximum of 20 seats (external).

There is a beamer/screen available. Your own laptop can be connected with an HDMI or VGA cable. These cables are available.

There is no amplified sound in the room for speakers. The room is quite intimate, so amplified sound for verbal presentations is not necessary. It goes without saying that the sound from the AV equipment is amplified.

The library staff at the desk (next to the FLOOR-zaal) have an access pass to the hall. You can borrow the pass and return it there after your event. Please note that the library staff do not offer further support.

You can use the room free of charge, but cleaning afterwards is a condition, you can request this via Event Coordination. We would like to receive a confirmation of this.

The floor plan above shows the basic layout of the FLOOR-zaal. Afterwards, please leave the room in this set-up. The long tables on the window side on this floor plan are not present, so this is not applicable.
