Yolanda Verdonk has been appointed to the Supervisory Board of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) starting 1 April 2023. She is the sixth member of the Board and was recruited because of her knowledge and expertise in human resources.

Yolanda Verdonk-van Lokven (1964) studied history and business administration. She currently works at the ABP Pension Fund as executive staff officer responsible for pensions policy and the organisation’s daily management. She was previously director of human resources and organisational development at the NS (Netherlands Railways).

The Supervisory Board’s recruitment of a sixth member with a human resources and legal profile means the Board can provide continuous supervision of the AUAS’s strategic HR policy, which sets out to fulfil its priority of being a good employer and employee. This is expressed in such aspects as the new Koers en Kompas policy. Verdonk will start as chair of the Board’s Governance and Remuneration Committee from 1 May 2023.

Supervisory Board chair Gala Veldhoen is delighted with Verdonk’s appointment: "We see Yolanda as a good addition to our Board. From her active managerial role, broad experience within public organisations and her knowledge and experience of strategic HR policy, including diversity and inclusion, she will be able to make a good contribution to our supervisory role. We are looking forward to working together."
