On 8 July, the new Dutch APA Guidelines were published. This is the third revised edition of The APA Guidelines Explained: A practical guide to citation in higher education. These Dutch guidelines are based on the seventh edition of the APA guidelines published in 2020.

As with previous editions, the publication has been released as a free download, but can also be bought in a printed version. The 3rd revised version of The APA Guidelines Explained, was compiled by 11 information specialists from 10 colleges in collaboration with SURF and the Society of College Libraries (SHB), with permission of the American Psychological Association (APA).

What is APA?

The APA Style was developed by the American Psychological Association (APA). It is the most important citation style for the social sciences and is also widely used in other disciplines.

At most AUAS faculties the use of the APA Style for referencing sources is obligatory.
