Report loss or theft
Have you lost your device -as employee- and can't log in? Check here what you can do.
If a AUAS laptop or mobile phone is stolen, this can sometimes constitute a data breach. Such incidents of theft should therefore be reported as soon as possible.
If your AUAS laptop has been stolen, this is what you must do:
- Contact the Service Desk ICT Services (+31 (0)20 595 1403) as soon as possible to report the theft.
- Please contact the Faculty Manager of your campus by email, so that he/she can file the police report on behalf of the UvA.
- Notify the ICT contact person that your laptop has been stolen and submit a copy of the police report to them.
- The ICT contact person will forward the copy of the report to ICTS so that the theft of the laptop can be recorded in the CMDB.
If your AUAS mobile phone has been stolen, this is what you must do:
- Block the SIM card immediately: to do so, contact T-Mobile/Detron by calling +31 (0)20 525 1459 to have the SIM card disabled.
- Delete your data: if you have set up your email account on the mobile phone, these mobile phone data should be deleted immediately. To do so, follow the instructions in the Erasing data from mobile devices manual.
- Contact the Faculty Manager of your campus by email so that he/she can file the police report on behalf of the AUAS.
- Report all cases of loss or theft to the ICT contact person at your faculty, service or department as soon as possible, preferably within one working day. Employees must also provide the contact person with (a copy of) the police report.
- The ICT contact person must then report this to the Service Desk along with a copy of the police report. The ICT contact person will receive a ‘UvA-AUAS Mandatory reporting of data breaches’ form, which must be completed and returned to the Service Desk.
